This Memorial Day, INFINIT Nutrition is proud to stand behind a mission that goes far beyond racing. From Friday, May 23rd through Tuesday, May 27th, we invite you to save 20% on select products, while 5% of all sales will go directly to support the Rusty Dogs of War, a nonprofit cycling team of Disabled Veterans and Challenged Athletes competing in the 2025 Race Across America (RAAM).
What is RAAM?
The Race Across America (RAAM) is one of the most respected and challenging endurance cycling events in the world. Spanning over 3,000 miles from Oceanside, California to Atlantic City, New Jersey, RAAM isn’t a stage race; it’s a nonstop test of willpower. Riders cross 13 states, climb more than 175,000 feet, and endure weather extremes, altitude changes, and sleep deprivation. Teams race against the clock 24/7, rotating riders and support crew to complete the journey in as few as 6–9 days.
It’s not just a race. It’s a mission of mental and physical endurance.

Meet the Rusty Dogs of War
The Rusty Dogs of War are a group of nine athletes, each with their own unique abilities and experiences. They’ve faced injury, illness, trauma, and adversity, and continue to show up, not only for themselves, but for the greater good.
-
Caleb Cline: Rides a recumbent trike due to back and neck injuries sustained in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan. Caleb specializes in attacking flats and descents and also serves as Co-Crew Chief.
-
Steve Carter: Retired Air Force veteran riding an upright bike. He attacks, climbs, and manages challenges with mental health and addiction recovery.
-
Greg Quarles: A retired Army Ranger who was seriously injured in combat. Now riding an upright bike against medical advice, he previously used a recumbent trike.
-
Wendy Larsen: A wheelchair-bound handcyclist living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. She specializes in downhills and flat terrain.
-
Ed Abdella: Retired Army Ranger riding an upright bike. He rides for those he lost in war and faces mental health and back issues related to years of service.
- Brian Milton & Mark Woodard: Ride together on a tandem bike. Brian, a retired Marine, supports Mark, who has been blind since age 10 after a shooting accident.

Training & Strategy
RAAM demands more than fitness. The Rusty Dogs are building an "energy-efficient tank" through focused base training in Zone 2 and low Zone 3. Their approach is unique: instead of making every rider face every terrain, they assign athletes to the areas where they perform best. This plays to each rider’s strengths and allows the team to cover ground more effectively.
"No one wins RAAM in the first miles or days — the race begins after crossing the Mississippi." With 1,000 miles still to go and the Appalachian Mountains standing in their way, that’s when the real test begins.

Mission Over Miles
The Rusty Dogs of War are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that believes everyone carries trauma — especially Veterans and Challenged Athletes.
Their motto: "Our minds and bodies may be a bit Rusty, but we all have a dog in the fight, and we need to keep showing up to help win the War."
