For me INFINIT has been a game changer. Before I started using my custom mix I dealt with GI issues in every race. Last year I had my BEST season ever and won at Ironman Lake Placid and took second at Ironman Mont Tremblant. There is no question that a big part of my sucess was my change in racing and training nutrition.
For me, simplicity is the ket for my sucess. I have everything I need in one place. There is no need for complicated nutrition strategies, with salt pills and food. I just drink my stuff and put my head down and hammer.
Setting up my INFINIT mixes was super easy and actually fun. It took only about 15 minuites and they were great. They treated me like all their other customers and did a nutritional consultation. I did not need any expertice, I just answered their questions and they did all the work for me. I was able to tweak my custom Infinit formula for long course and short course racing to maximize my potential and abolish any GI issues.
I know I am a salty sweater so I make sure my custom formula has plenty of sodium which means I don't need to waste time with any extra salt tabs on race day.
Taste is also key for me. There are some good products out there, but most are way too sweet. Sweet works for a while, but eventually I cannot take the taste anymore. Also, we don't race in a controlled enviornment. Most of the time it's hot on the bike, and my bottles aren't refrigerated. Sweet drinks are not drinkable when they get warm. That is a huge issue. With my custom mix, I have lower flavor and it still tastes good 5 hours in AND warm. I also kinda like the salt. :)
Nutrition is a cornerstone of any race goals I have. It will allow me to achive the sucess I want, or it can ruin the day. It is so cool to know that the nutritional part of my training and racing is dialed in. I don't worry about that any more. m most psyched on is Nocturne. This recovery solution with added tryptophan allows me to recover quicker so I can train harder at the next session.
